Delete from inside the app (fastest)

You can delete your account yourself, at any time, from the Family Diary app:

1. Open the app and go to Settings.
2. Scroll down and tap Delete my account.
3. Type DELETE to confirm, then tap Delete everything.

The deletion happens right away. If you only want to stop paying, you can cancel your subscription instead: your diary stays readable by your family, and nothing is deleted.

What gets deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes everything tied to it. This cannot be undone, and once it is gone, your family can no longer read it. This includes:

• Your entire life story and every chapter and entry.
• All of your photos and any voice recordings.
• Your family tree and family member list.
• Your profile and sign-in account.
• Your sharing links and family access codes.

Before you delete, you can save a copy: the app can export your whole diary, photos and all, as a PDF you keep forever (Settings, then Download my diary).

Can't open the app? Request deletion by email

If you are unable to sign in or reach the app, you can ask us to delete your account for you. Email support@familydiary.ai from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We verify that the request comes from the account owner, then permanently delete the account and all of its data. We complete deletion requests within 30 days, and usually much sooner.

Data retention

When your account is deleted, your stories, photos, recordings, family tree, and profile are removed from our systems. We keep no copy of your content. We may retain a minimal record of the deletion itself, and any records we are required to keep by law (for example, a receipt of a purchase), but never your life story or personal content.

Subscriptions

Deleting your account does not by itself cancel a store subscription. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, cancel it in your phone's subscription settings so you are not billed again.
